Lots of people love movies at the Mendocino K-8 School. There is a wide variety of movies that students like at the K-8, whether you are young or old. Lots of people love movies at the K-8. I interviewed fifth through eighth graders to see what people liked about their favorite movies, what genres they liked the best, and if they had a guess of what the most popular movie genre would be.
In art class people seemed to really like drama or comedy movies. Enzo, an 8th grader, said he liked the movie, Friday, because he says “it’s awesome.” Enzo said he was four when he first saw the movie. Two eighth graders named Cassidy and Safi said they like drama and rom-com movies. Safi was thirteen when she first saw her favorite movie, Waves. She states that it’s her favorite movie because “It shows two stories at once.” Cassidy says her favorite movie is One Hundred and Fifty Days of Summer. She likes the romance and was also thirteen when she first saw it.

Hannah’s third and fourth grade class liked anime movies and comedy movies. Madalyn says her favorite movie is Minions because her brother looks like a minion. Hunter’s favorite movie is Real Steel because he likes the robot. Hunter was eight when he first saw real steel.

At the K-8 people seem to really like comedy and drama/emotional movies, Which is what most people guessed. A lot of people in Hannah’s third/fourth grade class liked comedy movies, while a lot of the eighth graders liked more emotional and mature movies, which is understandable.
