The Mendocino K-8’s 7-8 grade went ice skating in Ukiah on January 7, 2025 right after the winter break. The trip was planned by the teachers because we filled up the 7-8 grade bucket with tickets that we earn from working hard. We spent the day driving and ice skating on the Ukiah-on-Ice rinks. Which is the rink we went to.

We filled up our bucket with tickets from all the classes and as a reward, the teachers planned a trip. The bucket is a bucket that we put all the tickets that the teachers hand out into. When it is fully filled up, we get a reward which in our case was ice skating. It was scheduled for Jan.7,2025 right after the new year. We had our first period and then got on the buses. We had to drive about an hour and a half but it was worth it because as soon as we got there we started skating. Thanks to the teachers and the staff at the rink we got free hot chocolate! It was great the injuries were not as bad as they could have been but we did have a student get a sprained leg. Other than that though it was great it was fun and a cool way to spend our day. After about 2  hours on the ice it was time to head home. So we packed up and got back on the buses.

When we got back everything was a buzz and we were all exhausted so we packed up and headed back home. Overall our day was really fun and full of craziness and driving. And i am really glad that the teachers chose this field trip.
